The year was 1999 and María Clara saw an untapped market in Colombia. In the same year she founded the first Latin American company dedicated exclusively to software testing. Fast forward to 2022 and the need for growth beyond Latin American borders became part of the roadmap.
Choucair is a pioneer company in software testing in Latin America. It has more than 20 years of experience, keeping its focus on such discipline, which gives it a great authority and objectivity in the software quality assurance area.
Choucair has executed more than thirty thousand testing projects in eleven countries and has created a new category in that market: Business Centric Testing. They are the leader in their category in Latin America, and now they started their expansion plans into the North American markets having Toronto as the point of entry.
“Toronto, because it was a financial and a very business driven city and with LatAm Startups we needed an accelerator to understand the culture, the business way, and hearing LatAm Startups, we encountered that they help us to understand the market, the commercial ways. And for us it has been very useful to be here.” María Clara reflects on the benefits of having Toronto as HQ for overseeing North American operations, and how important it is to have LatAm Startups as an ally in their endeavour.
“And we are a big corp, so we had a little bit more affinity to start the North American market here in Canada.” LatAm Startups not only offers programs for highly scalable international startups, but also for big corporations that are seeking to open a branch or office in Canada.
